THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TOY RC CARS AND HOBBY RC CARS

The RC cars and RC trucks that you see on TV and in toy stores offer a great way for young people to get involved in a rewarding hobby; however, there are few similarities between these toy-grade vehicles and the proper radio controlled cars. For example, with hobby-grade R/C vehicles spares are available and you'll be able to make repairs yourself without having to send it back to the manufacturer. Also, hobby-grade R/C vehicles are generally made of better materials than toygrade RC vehicles, so they can withstand the severe punishment of a backyard obstacle course or a high-speed cartwheel at the local park. Hobby rc kits are designed to provide long life and superior performance and parts back up is a must or the RC vehicle is useless.

SPEED CONTROL BASICS

Our electric RC cars come with electronic speed control. They are devices that allows the RC car to move forward at different speeds instead of just one speed like with a toy radio controlled car, as well as a reverse to allow you to back your car out of trouble. The speed control performs well enough, but ours come with advanced electronic speed controls (ESC). You'll find that an ESC allows much more precise throttle control, requires no maintenance, operates more efficiently, and saves both weight and space on your car's chassis.

WHERE TO RACE

Most hobbyists run their RC cars in informal settings. Backyards, parks and unused, paved areas are where you'll probably find people driving and enjoying R/C vehicles. If you have a competitive nature, however, there are hundreds of R/C racing clubs and tracks throughout the country and you'll learn fast at these places.

OFF-ROAD VS ON-ROAD

The most popular type of R/C car is the RC Buggy. Big tires with "knobby" spikes, full- RCsuspension parts and a high ground clearance allow the off-roader to go almost anywhere.The RC buggy can roll over rock, grass, mud and rough terrains with ease and nitro rc buggys can hit 70mph so a good choice all round.We have the popular Acme Condor nitro Buggie and with a upgraded Pro version and a 2 speed gearbox makes these fast and good fun to roll over all types of ground.

On-Road RC cars usually have lower ground clearances, slicks tires, aerodynamic bodies, and are capable of fast speeds and great fun to race. Best used on smooth flat surfaces like tarmac or a race track, These can be upgraded and blinged up to your own style.

The speed and power of nitro radio controlled cars is awesome and is second to none, there are many benefits to the nitro rc car and once its broken in they can reach speeds of 30 - 70 MPH.You can race on tracks or join a hobby club or local park in this exciting world of nitro rc cars.

 A single gallon of fuel will keep a nitro car going for about 6 - 7 hours before needing to be refilled so you can keep going always with short cooling down periods in between, you can buy a 2.2 litre of nitro fuel for around £14 and will fill a nitro rc car about 30 times. But with electric powered models there are limits as once the batteries have run down, you'll need to recharge before using again.

Most nitro rc cars are (RTR) ready to run out the box. All that is needed is a "glow start, fuel, batteries" and most importantly READ THE INSTRUCTIONS as it would be a shame to ruin your new radio controlled nitro car simply because you did not bother to read the manual. There is more maintenance involved in a radio controlled nitro car and you would need to learn to clean, tune, maintain and upgrade it but this is very easy and will give you an understanding of how these models work.
